PBJ lives in a world where aliens are in charge and her dad wants her to know that humans are also not to be trusted. Those closest to her are her strict and busy dad, her marketplace friend Bertha, and most of all, characters from the books in Bertha’s “bag of many things.” PBJ wants nothing more than to form connections outside of her small circle. She soon finds a special connection indeed with Jay, a boy who’s lived next door most of her life, and his alien friend, Bo. This goes against her dad’s rule—that is, until he learns a heartwarming truth about Jay and the aliens—proving that rules can be bent and sometimes should be.
